James Naughton
DevOps Engineer
Join a high-impact engineering team building complex systems used in real-world environments worldwide.

We’re partnered with a leading UK technology business developing advanced hardware and software solutions for critical communications and sensing applications.

You’ll be joining a team of around 30 engineers working across embedded software, cloud infrastructure, and application development, helping them deliver the next generation of intelligent, connected systems.

This is an opportunity to step into a DevOps role with genuine variety, where you’ll collaborate closely with software and infrastructure teams to automate, improve, and scale the company’s deployment and monitoring platforms.
It’s a hands-on environment where engineers are trusted to take ownership, drive improvements, and influence technical direction.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Building and maintaining automated deployment pipelines and infrastructure as code
  • Managing and optimising cloud environments (AWS and related services)
  • Improving CI/CD, monitoring, and release processes across multiple software teams
  • Collaborating with developers to simplify operations and enhance delivery speed
  • Supporting and developing containerised workloads using Docker and related tools
  • Ensuring strong reliability, scalability, and security standards are maintained
What We’re Looking For
  • Background in Linux administration and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with AWS
  • Knowledge of Docker or container orchestration technologies
  • Scripting ability with Python or Bash/Shell
  • Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or similar automation tools
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, or comparable systems)
  • Strong communicator who enjoys solving problems and working collaboratively
The Environment
  • Hybrid working model – three days in the office near Cambridge
  • Permanent position
  • Supportive culture with clear technical ownership and autonomy
  • Fast interview process (initial video call, followed by on-site technical discussion)
If you’re looking for a hands-on DevOps role where you can see the impact of your work across an entire product suite, apply now for immediate consideration.
