A leading UK-based technology manufacturer in Wakefield is looking for a C# / .NET Software Engineer to take ownership of a mission-critical internal deployment system that powers a high-volume production environment.
This is not a SaaS or customer-facing product role. This is an opportunity to work on a business-critical internal platform that directly controls how hundreds of bespoke systems are built and configured every day.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining and evolving a custom-built Windows deployment platform used on a live production line. The system intelligently adapts to each individual build, handling dynamic driver injection, automated OEM software installation, Windows licence injection, PXE-based imaging and integration with internal order management systems.
You will work closely with internal development, production and operations teams to improve automation, increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention across the manufacturing process.
This is a hands-on role with genuine ownership and real-world impact. Your work will directly influence production throughput and system reliability.

- 2+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer
- Strong C# and .NET development experience
- Experience working with complex, long-lived codebases
- Confident troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Comfortable taking ownership of a critical internal system
- Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
Desirable experience includes Windows deployment technologies, driver management, hardware ecosystems or experience within production or manufacturing environments.

- Primarily onsite due to the nature of the production system
- Potential flexibility for 1 day per week working from home
