New Data Analyst vacancy - Remote first | Customer Engagement platforms £50k
We are partnering with a growing Customer Engagement platform business that designs and runs data-driven programmes for well-known brands. They work closely with clients to understand customer behaviour and use data to influence real commercial outcomes. The business is now making its first dedicated hire of a Data Analyst. This is a genuinely influential role where you will help shape how data is used across clients, campaigns and internal decision making. You will need to be proactive and drive insights, not wait to be told what to do.
The Role
You will join as a Data Analyst and initially support a large, data-rich engagement programme. The work centres around analysing transactional and behavioural data to understand customer engagement, spend, frequency, redemption and campaign performance. Typical questions you will be answering include how customer behaviour is changing over time, which campaigns drive sustained behaviour change versus short-term spikes, and what drives increases or declines in spend and engagement.
Over time, the role will naturally broaden. You will help the business improve how it reports insight, reduce reliance on one-off analysis, and build more repeatable frameworks that can be used across multiple clients. There is also scope to influence product thinking and, longer term, evolve towards more advanced or predictive analytics if that is of interest.
You will work closely with product and client-facing teams and may attend client meetings alongside them, contributing insight and answering questions. You will not be expected to lead presentations or manage clients directly.
What You Will Be Doing
You will spend most of your time working with structured data in SQL databases and producing clear, practical outputs in Excel that internal teams and clients can explore. A big part of the role is translating analysis into recommendations that help shape campaign decisions, programme design and ongoing optimisation. The business is keen to move away from endless bespoke reporting, so you will also play a role in improving how insight is delivered in a more scalable and consistent way.
What They Are Looking For
They are looking for an experienced Data Analyst who has worked in a small company environment and is proactive in driving insights and comfortable dealing with open-ended questions. You should be confident using SQL, strong in Excel, and able to explain insight clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Experience with Power BI, customer engagement platforms, marketing, ecommerce or customer data would be useful but is not essential. What matters more is commercial mindset, curiosity, and the confidence to ask the right questions rather than just run queries.
Working Environment
The role is remote-first with flexible working patterns. There will be occasional office attendance and client meetings, but the business is pragmatic and outcome-focused. It is a small, collaborative team where people are expected to get involved and help shape how things are done.
Why This Role
This is a rare opportunity to be the first analytics hire in a business that genuinely wants to do analytics properly. You will work on large, interesting datasets, have clear visibility of your impact, and play a key role in building an analytics capability from the ground up.
Salary: £50,000 + benefits
Location: Remote first
