Founding Research Scientist / Research Engineer
Avanti is working with an early-stage frontier AI lab who are building AI that deeply understands people. They’re developing the missing layer between people and foundation models, enabling AI systems to develop a richer understanding of individuals over time.
Founded by researchers from Google DeepMind and Meta, they’re building a small, ambitious team working across machine learning, cognition and human behaviour.
The Role
We're looking for exceptional Research Scientists and Research Engineers to join a founding technical team.
Depending on your background, you might work on:
- Memory and personalisation.
- User modelling and preference learning.
- Post-training and model evaluation.
- Human-AI interaction.
- Scalable ML systems and infrastructure.
We're looking for people who are excited by hard problems and enjoy moving quickly from ideas to working systems.
About You
You've probably worked at a leading AI lab, research institution or ambitious startup.
You enjoy building as much as researching, move quickly, think from first principles and are comfortable working without a detailed specification.
You're excited by the opportunity to help shape the research direction, product and culture of a founding-stage company.
