Senior Front End Developer (React / TypeScript / Next.js / Vercel)
£60k to £70k – Full time Permanent
Central Oxford (Hybrid; 3+ days per week office based, 2 days from home)
Avanti Recruitment is working with an Oxford based technology company specialising in innovative AI and machine learning products.
We are looking for a talented Senior Developer with 5 to 10 years’ experience to join a growing team of very bright individuals. This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead in building a new application from scratch using modern web technologies.
Excellent communication skills are key and the role needs to be 3 days (minimum) per week in the office based in Central Oxford. The other 2 days can be remote / from home.

The role:
As a Senior Developer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of a new application using React, TypeScript, Next.js, and Vercel. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the technical aspects of the project.

Key responsibilities:

• Take the lead in developing a new application from scratch with React / TypeScript.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, identifying and implementing effective solutions.
• Work collaboratively in an Agile development environment, actively participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality work within agreed-upon deadlines.
• Maintain documentation of code, architectural decisions, and project specifications.

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 to 10 years of professional experience in web development, with a strong focus on front-end technologies.
• Expertise in React, TypeScript, (Next.js, and Vercel would be a huge bonus), with a track record of delivering successful projects using these technologies.
• Strong understanding of modern web development principles, including responsive design, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience building scalable and performant applications with a focus on user experience.
• Proficient in Git or other version control systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Knowledge of backend technologies and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Express) is a bonus.
